Brooke's Pick - Atomic Habits by James Clear

This book helped me realize which small things I was doing in my life that were keeping me behind. Reading it didn’t make me feel bad, it simply helped me start changing. This was possibly my favorite of all the books I’ve read the last year.

My favorite quote from this book was, “The greatest threat to success is not failure but boredom. We get bored with habits because they stop delighting us. The outcome becomes expected. And as our habits become ordinary, we start derailing our progress to seek novelty.”

How many times have you started a habit but simply got bored with it? Too many to count. James Clear, the author, gives you little tips and tricks to hold onto your habits.

Chris' Pick - Shoe Dog

Nike founder and CEO Phil Knight tells his story of the early days when Nike was just a little start-up all the way through its evolution into one of the world’s most iconic brands. This book is interesting if you like business books, but also entertaining even if you are just looking for a fun read about a rad brand.

One of my favorite quotes from Shoe Dog is, "Life is growth. You grow or you die.”

Not only is this applicable to business, but it is also applicable to life. Don't be scared to change even though change might be scary.

Caitlin's Pick - Greenlights by Matthew McConaughey

I mean, need we say more? This book by Matthew McConaughey has glowing reviews and is super entertaining to read or listen to. While this book is a fun autobiography, it's also a really inspirational read.

One of the best quotes from it is. "I'm not perfect; no, I step in shit all the time and recognize it when I do. I've just learned how to scrape it off my boots and carry on.”

If Matty McConaughey believes in you, you should believe in you too.

Lance's Pick - People Over Profit, Dale Partridge

Spoiler alert, this book will give you a little insight to how we run Gravel. This read talks all about how important it is to treat people like people and not like dollar signs. This book has shaped Lance in all he does and has shaped what Gravel is today. This book is great for business but also great for being a great person.

“Every day you have a choice to be honest or deceptive. If you commit to telling the truth, you will win. You’ll win more trust, you’ll win more business, and you’ll win more peace of mind. You’ll break the system and be even more successful.”

The goal is to be as transparent and awesome as possible. We strive to do this every day for amazing customers like you!
