If you've already finished a Netflix series (or two, we won't judge), here are some of our recommendations for awesome series to start.
Co-owner Chris is currently watching Wicked Tuna, Lego Masters and Love is Blind.
Wicked Tuna is a reality show that follows commercial fishermen in Massachusetts. Fishermen make up teams and they compete to see who can get the most money with the fish they catch. Captains adhere to U.S. regulations that determine size limits and quotas for the season, so they remain ethical. Wicked Tuna can be streamed on Hulu.
Lego Masters, hosted by Will Arnett, is an awesome competition show where Lego enthusiasts go head to head to build something awesome out of legos. They have an unlimited stash of Legos and must impress the judges to move onto the next round in hopes to become the ultimate Lego Master. Lego Masters can be found on Hulu.
Love is Blind is a Netflix Original series where singles try to find love but here's the catch...they never see each other face to face until AFTER they get engaged. Yes, it's trash TV...but it's like a train wreck-- you can't look away. *The couples date in pods and can only hear each other--with Covid-19, Chris' wife thinks the pod-like dating could be new normal for social-distancing dating. ;)
Head of Marketing Brooke is currently re-watching Parks and Rec and Self Made on Netflix.
Parks and Recreation is an older NBC show starring Amy Poehler, Nick Offerman, Aziz Ansari and Rob Lowe. The show follows around Parks and Rec bureaucrat Leslie Knope and her team while running into lots of crazy people and events.
If you like The Office, you will like Parks and Rec because it has a lot of the same producers and writers (Michael Schur wrote for The Office and is the co-creator of Parks and Rec).
Self Made is a drama based on "the untold and highly story of black hair care pioneer and mogul Madam C. J. Walker and how she overcame hostile turn-of-the-century America, epic rivalries, tumultuous marriages and some trifling family to become America’s first Black, self-made female millionaire."
Octavia Spencer plays Madam C.J. Walker and kills the role! The series is very informative and super interesting!
Gravel's Ads Guy Logan is watching Narcos
Narcos is a show about Pablo Escobar in early drug cartel days. Though some events are dramatized, it does a good job of telling Pablo's tale in Columbia and how the American government got involved with taking him down.
Warning: There is language, nudity and violence and may not be suitable for little ones.
Product Designer Henry suggests Mr. Robot
Mr. Robot, starring Rami Malik, is a show about a vigilante cybersecurity worker that is brought into an elite underground group to hack into and decimate crooked corporate America.
This psychological thriller can be found on Amazon Prime and is ready to binge.
